The deputy president of the African National Congress Youth League Desmond Moela has launched a scathing attack on two of their senior members.
Taking on the ANC leadership on Sunday at the Youth League eThekwini Regional conference in Durban, Moela called on them to intermix its leadership with “young blood”.
By this, he said the ANC should as matter of urgency, deploy youths to Parliament. Moela stated that Parliament has gradually turned into a fierce zone, thus the need to push the old men aside and replace them with young blood.
“We need energy. You can see they are very old [and] cannot speak properly. We are saying gradually integrate us into structures of the ANC,” he said.
Taking on Pravin Gordhan, he said the minister must go home and rest his old head; adding that he must equally face the law.
“Now, we are saying as the ANCYL, that old, retired man must find inner peace and leave us in peace. He must also face the law,” Desmond Moela added.
Turning on ANC chief whip Jackson Mthembu, Molela slammed him; alleging that he makes incoherent speeches in Parliament.
“You can’t have somebody called Jack Daniels, who is always drunk, speaking … without the mandate [of the ANC]. We want to see young people becoming ministers and deputy ministers. When we respond to economic issues we want to be in a position to do so from the top,” he said.
Picking on Madonsela, the wide-mouthed Youth League leader alleged that the former Public Protector and her cohorts are white puppets.
He added that the league knows they are sponsored by “the enemy”. Moela sarcastically urged Thuli to go get a boyfriend instead of making unnecessary statements about the office of the Public Protector.
