The Fun-Filled Color Run To Storm Soweto For The First Time

Finally, Soweto will get a chance to get colourful as the charity race Colour Run will be held in the city on Sunday 17 April.

This is a way of giving back to the society as participants pick a charity, get a “Fun Raiser” code, and get all their friends to buy tickets under their code to generate fund.

From each ticket sold, the main sponsor of The Color Run, Capitec Bank, has made it possible for R10 to be donated to education. This is with regards to Adopt-A-School project where they will identify a school in need of assistance in the area, and address its most pressing requirements depending on the priority.

About Colour Run

The Color Run is a colourful event that emits happiness where “Color Runners” of all shapes and sizes happily transform their pristine white clothing to a prismatic colour.

Participants are showered with a different colour of powder at each kilometre mark. The colour is sprayed in the air, thereby creating an ever-increasing spectrum of colour and beauty. At the end of the Colour Run, the colour festival begins with the air filled with countless number of beautiful colour combinations with the participants engulfed in the colour throwing fun as well.

The Soil group expressed their excitement at being part of such a wonderful event as they look forward to giving back to the city they grew up in.

“It really means a lot – especially that we grew up in Soweto and we’re appreciated by the people of Soweto. We always want to perform in Soweto and it’s thanks to events like the Color Run that we get to become part and parcel of Soweto heritage. The Color Run is going to be a great event for the whole family, because it’s so colourful, it attracts and unifies so many diverse people and it makes people so happy.”

Their inspiration to participants was very short and precise.

“Everything is possible, we did it from Soweto to the world, and they can also do it.”
