About two years after announcing she has transitioned to a woman, Caitlyn Jenner has revealed that she has undergone genital surgery to complete the process.
The Olympic-winning decathlete announced that she had the surgery since January. However, she decided to make it public now because she’s fed up and annoyed by fans who are constantly asking about her genitals.
Thus, Cait, 67, made the revelation in her memoir ‘The Secrets of My Life’ “so all of you can stop staring.”
“The surgery was a success, and I feel not only wonderful but liberated. I am telling you because I believe in candour. You want to know, so now you know. Which is why this is the first time, and the last time, I will ever speak of it,” Jenner wrote in leaked excerpts of her memoir “The Secrets of My Life.”
Apparently, Cait’s genitals were becoming a burden as she had to worry about them whenever she chooses an outfit. She said having a penis had “no special gifts or use for me… I just want to have all the right parts. I am also tired of tucking the damn thing in all the time.”
According to a 2016 U.S survey, only 11 percent of transgender women had their testicles removed while 12 percent underwent a vaginoplasty.
Jenner is one of the most-high profile American transgender women. She announced her new identity in an April 2015 TV interview.
Subsequently, she announced that her name would change from Bruce to Caitlyn Jenner in a July 2015 Vanity Fair cover shoot.
The TV star who is also the step-father of reality stars Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, later had her own reality TV show which documented her transition from being a man to a woman.
