Bonang’s resignation from Metro FM came as a surprise to many who never saw it coming. In fact, if she had done it on April 1, we would have taken it as a joke.

Nevertheless, local presenter Bonang Matheba seems to be really serious about her decision to leave the station. In the midst of speculation over the reason behind Bonang’s resignation, she opened up to her disgruntled fans.

On Monday afternoon, the local celebrity announced the shocking news on Twitter.
She wrote;

“After 3 years of making magic on the Front Row, I can confirm that I have officially stepped down as the host of the show. I will miss my Metro FM family dearly, as they say all good things do come to an end….Looking forward to the next chapter of my radio life.”

Bonang’s management DNA Brand Architects confirmed that she has resigned from the show. However, there was no confirmation to the speculation that her decision had anything to do with co-hosting with Lerato Kganyago.

However, taking back to Twitter, Bonang kind confirmed the speculation with her recent tweet.

She explained the reason why she left, saying;

Apparently, Queen B is dissatisfied with the station’s decision to pair her with Lerato Kganyago as part of the new lineup. Thus, the sudden resignation.

Her resignation from Metro FM comes in the midst of a major presenter reshuffle at the station. The SABC had confirmed that Metro FM listeners should gear up for a few surprises.

SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago confirmed that while Khanyi Mbau is getting her own show, Lerato Kganyago will team up with Bonang Matheba on The Front Row as co-host.

Meanwhile, Bonang and her boyfriend were reportedly spotted at Touch HD headquarters on Monday afternoon as the news of her departure from Metro FM hit the headlines.
