Lionel Messi Set To Marry Childhood And Long-Time Girlfriend

The social media has been abuzz with numerous reactions, comments and congratulatory messages since the news of Barcelona star Lionel Messi’s upcoming nuptials went viral.

The forthcoming marriage between Messi and his long-time girlfriend Antonella Roccuzzo broke the internet on Wednesday after the marriage plan was let out of the bag by La Nacion journalist Juan Pablo Varsky during his radio show.

“I learned by chance, next year there will be a big celebration. I don’t have a clear date but it’s in Rosario,” the Argentine journalist said.

The ceremony was also reportedly confirmed by a close relative of the football star afterwards.

Messi and Roccuzzo are childhood friends, having met as kids in Messi’s hometown Rosario through Lucas Scaglia – Messi’s friend and Roccuzzo’s cousin.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was said to be nine years old when he met Rucceuzzo- a daughter of a supermarket owner.

The lovebirds began dating in 2008 and have been living together since 2010. They didn’t confirm they were dating until 2010 when Antonella travelled to Barcelona for the first time.

The FC Barcelona forward’s relationship with his partner became very intimate and stronger after the death of Antonella’s friend, who died in a road traffic accident.

In 2012, Roccuzzo fell pregnant for Barcelona star Lionel Messi and gave birth to their first adorable son – Thiago. The couple is also blessed with another one-year-old charming kid – Meteo.

A family source confirmed that the marriage will likely hold in summer, precisely, on Messi’s birthday June 24, 2017, while Rosario’s Cathedral Basilica of our Lady of the Rosary is the most likely venue for the big ceremony.
