For instance, the Fighters (EFF) were so excited they issued a statement urging South Africans to not give up on Bafana Bafana.

Excerpts from the statement read:

“We express great gratitude to all the boys for making us proud and call on the nation to take this as a sign to put all support behind them.

We reiterate our call that as a nation, we must never give up on Bafana Bafana who held us together as a country during the difficult times after apartheid. We must always remember that they played an important role in the collective healing we needed as a nation after many decades of violence and instability.

We must continue to support them to the end in all the upcoming marches by showing up in great numbers. This will give them new hope and confidence that they can recall their magic and put us on a world map in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.”

Baxter’s boys will face Senegal in Polokwane come 10th November for further Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier bout. They will play the game without key midfielders, Andile Jali and Bongani Zungu.

While Zungu received a red card in the Burkina Faso clash, Jail has a one-match suspension. Nevertheless, Coach Baxter expressed that all will be fine without the players in the game.

He said: “We went into the game (against Burkina Faso) missing Dean Furman and Tower … but I would like to think that the squad stands up for itself.

“If we can knock Senegal over here, we will take it to the wire. We will put pressure on everybody else. We are the ones now who can sneak in through the back door and they have the pressure on them. I’m going to tell the players, ‘take that last chance’,” added the coach.
