Zuma Won’t Fall, Another Zuma Will Even Succeed Him – ANCYL KZN

The call for President Zuma to abandon his position as the leader of South Africa intensified after the release of the State Capture report.

However, ANCYL KZN has specified that Mr. Zuma will remain President and, will be succeeded by another Zuma only when he’s done leading.

Speaking for the ANCYL branch, Thanduxolo Sabelo named the agitation for Zuma to step down a “dream” that wouldn’t see the light of the day.

According to Sabelo, the former Public Protector manufactured the dream to appease the “imperial forces looking for regime change.”

He thereafter, indicate that the remedial action Mandosela called for in the State Capture report undermined President Zuma’s authority as the leader of the country.

The remedial action requires the President to appoint, within 30 days, a commission of inquiry headed by a judge selected by the Chief Justice.

Sabelo argued that the process would be unconstitutional saying the Constitution specified that the President is responsible for appointing commissions of inquiry.

“This is not a shared responsibility and as such the President does not need help from the Chief Justice appointing a judicial commission of inquiry… Otherwise you are saying the president is no longer the head of state,” remarked Sabelo.

With the foregoing, ANCYL KZN stressed that Zuma must complete his term as President. Thereafter, they declared that they’ve nominated the former wife of the President, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma to stand for the party’s presidency next year.

According to Sabelo, all the three regions of ANCYL KZN said they preferred the ANC to elect Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma as the president of the movement.

He said: “they cited issues of unity, her strong leadership credentials and her success wherever she has been deployed as reasons for their nomination.”

Sabelo acknowledged that ANCYL branches do not have voting status. But then, divulged that they have the opportunity to influence the ANCYL and the mother body to vote for Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma.

Already, “they have mandated the provincial executive committee of the youth structure to lobby the national executive committee of the Youth League to meet Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma and ask her to stand for the presidency,” added Sabelo.
