Winner of the second season of Coca-Cola Popstars and one of the five members of the band Adilah Refiloe Motha has died.
As tributes are pouring in for the Adilah singer after reports of the star’s death emerged on Wednesday, fellow band member Letang Tlome took to Facebook to pay tribute to the fallen star.
“My friend God called and you answered, you have given us such awesome, beautiful, sweet memories. Refiloe (Fifi) Motha, may your soul rest in eternal peace. Till we meet again and make great music again. Adilah forever!,” she wrote.
TV personality Zola Hashatsi also sympathised with the group.
“Very saddened by the passing of Refiloe Motha of Coca Cola Popstars Fame. Adilah was the name, Ses’fikile was the jam,” he wrote.
“It is sad that her death might not get the prominence of other artists but she was loved by her fans,” Zola said.
Adilah’s Thembisile Ntaka confirmed the news of the untimely death of the pop star. She also wrote on Twitter;

In the meantime, the remaining members of the group are expected to attend Refiloe’s funeral on Thursday at the African Gospel Church, Orlando East.

Refiloe Motha became famous as a contestant on popular TV music competition Coca-Cola Popstars. She was one of the 2003 winners who later formed the band, Adilah. Adilah rose rose fame with their track, Ses’Fikilehe. However, the group later split, with some of its members flying solo in the bid to make a living in the industry.
Meanwhile, there are no details about the circumstances that led to the death of this pop star.
