Taking to Twitter on Thursday, radio personality Zama Dube announced that Friday will mark her last day at the radio station.
“Tomorrow marks my last day on air at 947. I’m sorry to those who also listen on a Saturday but it’s time to take this leap. Thank you for everything.”
Apparently, the radio host is ready to embark on new projects and fans wished her well in her endeavours.
Zama Dube was the host of the Saturday afternoon show which runs from 14:00 until 18:00. The station has not commented on who will replace her on the slot.
Zama’s resignation follows a reshuffling which took place at the station last month. 947 confirmed the news on Twitter at the time; “We are shaking things up”.
As a result, it was confirmed that Darren ‘Whackhead’ Simpson will no longer host the Breakfast Xpress on 947.
According to Darren, he put in his best to make sure his listeners are satisfied. He said that while people only hear him on air from 6am to 9am‚ he actually wakes up at 4am. Again, he very often leaves the office at 9pm.
In other words, he puts in a lot of time at work, making it almost impossible to be a dad to his kids.
“The show comes with a lot of responsibility and I went up and told management that something has got to change.
Thus, media personality Anele Mdoda will be taking over the breakfast show after Darren ‘Whackhead’ Simpson resigned from the Breakfast Xpress.
While Darren Simpson will move to the afternoon drive, Anele Mdoda will take over his spot on the breakfast show. The new reshuffling will take effect on 3 April.
