5FM line-up changes has been announced with actress and radio DJ Thando Thabethe bagging the afternoon drive slot.
The changes which follow the departure of DJ Fresh from the station this month will come into effect on 1 May.
Thando will be taking over from Roger Goode and co who are moving to the breakfast slot after DJ Fresh joined Metro FM.
Following the reshuffling, Roger Goode and his team will take over the reins for breakfast slot from 06:00 – 09:00 while Thando Thabethe and Msizi James take the afternoon drive spot from 15:00 – 18:00.
Roger’s team includes Sureshnie Rider on news, Ms Cosmo on traffic and Robbie Kruse on sport. In other words, he maintains his old team.
However, the afternoon drive show welcomes a brand-new member to 5FM, Durban-born Msizi James as Thando’s co-host alongside Sibs Matiyela on news and Duran Collett on sport on The Thabooty Drive.
Thando and her team have reportedly been in intense strategy sessions to bring you the best radio ever.
Here are the rest of the changes on the 5FM line-up;
Thabethe’s former co-host, Justin Toerien, will now host with Stephanie B the 22:00 – 01:00 spot from Mondays to Thursdays.
In addition, Toerien takes over weekend breakfast from 07:00-10:00 alongside Nadia Romanos on news and Jude van Wyk on sport.
Nick Hamman’s Hamman Time moves to a new time slot, 09:00 – 12:00 and the show gains Carmen Reddy on news.
The Forbes and Fix Show moves to 12:00 – 15:00 with Kim Schulze on news.
Meanwhile, 5FM introduces a new Ultimix feature from 18:00 – 19:00 Monday to Friday with the Weekender5. The Ultimix by The Weekender5 will feature DJ Loyd on Mondays, Kyle Cassim on Tuesdays, Ms Cosmo on Wednesdays, Das Kapital on Thursdays and a Legends mix on Fridays.
