The 2017 Feather Awards which took place at Kyalami’s Theatre on The Track on Thursday was all shades of glitz and glam.

The pink carpet at the 9th annual Feather Awards was lit with some of SA’s most colourful celebs making a statement with their outfits. Skolopad, Zodwa Wabantu, Boity and Khanya Mkangisa, Somizi and a slew of others turned more than a few heads at the star-studded event. While Skolopad made a statement in a boerewors dress, Zodwa Wabantu’s very high slit turned up the heat. Boity looked classic in a simple gown.

The theme for the 2017 Feather Awards was “Aluta Continua” which is a Portuguese phrase that means “The Struggle Continues.” Apparently, this is a reflection of the ongoing struggles faced by LGBTI communities in our present society.

The fabulous and colourful award show celebrates the LGBTI community and iconic personalities and achievers who have been an inspiration to the LGBTI community.
