Musical artist Zuluboy has been kicked out from his Ukhozi FM shows for allegedly favoring his music over other songs during his shows.
The rapper was accused of self-promotion according to insiders. Apparently, Zuluboy who is also on the cast of e.tv’s telenovela Gold Diggers, got himself into some serious trouble after promoting his own songs to an unacceptable extent. Thus,
Thus, Zuluboy was accused of favoring his music at the expense of other artists on his two shows on Ukhozi FM – Namba Namba and Chillas that he hosts weekly on Friday and Saturday.
SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago confirmed the news;
“Ukhozi FM decided to terminate his contract with immediate effect following a disagreement between the two parties. The station felt that there was no way forward and it was best to let him go. Unfortunately, I cannot reveal the circumstances that led to his departure because it is an employer-employee issue.”
Zuluboy whose real name is Mxolisi Majozi, was hired last October to promote the two shows. He was tasked with making the shows more popular by using his mass appeal. Unfortunately, he focused more on promoting his own music.
Prior to his dismissal, the musician was warned of the consequences of his actions. As a result, he was suspended from work earlier this year, allegedly for playing his own songs during the shows. However, when he returned from suspension, he continued to play his music and his friends’.
Subsequently, listeners and artists inundated Ukhozi FM with complaints that Zuluboy was focusing on himself and his friends. Meanwhile, Kganyago refused to throw more light on the issue. Also, he didn’t acknowledge or deny the allegations that Zuluboy was playing his own music.
