God Gave Me Power To Lead, If You Can’t Lead Step Aside – King Goodwill Tells ANC

Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini has put the African National Congress (ANC) on the spot by asking leaders of the ruling party to step down if they are unable to lead the people.

Zwelithini said he is so positive that he will make a good leader should the ANC give him a chance to take up any leadership position because “God gave me powers to lead”.

The traditional leader made this known during a reed dance ceremony in Ingwavuma at the weekend. He also enumerated certain flaws which showed the ANC has lost its power and is being led by an arrogant fellow.

According to the king, the Democratic Alliance’s victory in Tshwane; Johannesburg; and Nelson Mandela Bay showed that the ANC failed to heed to his [Zwelithini] advice and that of the people.

He lamented: “As I am talking, the capital city of South Africa is governed by whites; which is a sign that the country is gone. The economic base (Johannesburg) has been taken over by whites.”

The traditional leader also bashed the growing factionalism in the party; which he said is a sign of immaturity and solely responsible for poor and inadequate service delivery to the people.

“Solve these problems so that you can provide services. I cannot tolerate what is happening because if it continues like this it is setting a bad example,” he warned.

He, however, condemned the political killings which were tied to infighting between alliance partners the ANC and the SACP in Inchanga. The king was making reference to the deaths of SACP activist Nonsikelelo Blose and revenge killing of ANC’s Xolani Ngcobo. They were both buried a few kilometres apart in Inchanga on the same day.

Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini has always called on the ANC to fulfill its campaign promises and not give the people false hope.
