Trey Songz, Emtee & DJ Maphorisa To Collaborate In Coke Studio Season Finale


US R&B singer Trey Songz has been confirmed as the international superstar for this year’s Coke Studio who will be collaborating with local hip-hop star Emtee.

The Grammy-award nominated artist and actor is set to feature in the finale (episode 13) of Coca-Cola’s flagship music show. This is scheduled to air on 19 November 2016.

Trey is going to record in Coke Studio Nairobi, live alongside artists from eleven participating countries, including Emtee. Thus, the American R&B sensation will be jetting off to Nairobi this September. Other selected African stars scheduled to perform with Trey Songz are Nyashinski (Kenya); Vanessa Mdee (Tanzania); Stonebwoy (Ghana) and Neyma (Mozambique).

In a statement, Trey revealed that he has always been committed to spending time in Africa every year. According to the singer, the amount of love fans shower on him there is immeasurable.

Thus, he said;

“I can’t wait to visit Kenya and partner with the Coca-Cola Company on this initiative. I am fortunate to be working with some of Africa’s biggest stars. I look forward to learning from them, making a lot of new friends as I discover what they have to offer.”

Apparently, the African artists are also eager to collaborate with this talented artist. Meanwhile, South African producer DJ Maphorisa will be producing this collaboration between Trey and the African artists.

Excited about the collaboration, Maphorisa said:

“I have had the opportunity to work with many great artists from all over the world and am very excited to be collaborating with such a talented artist. I believe that we will be making something truly special together and am happy that we are able to share our amazing African sounds with the world in this way.”
