Perhaps the latest celebrity to die on the social media, Mafikizolo have had to shut down reports that the group’s Theo Kgosinkwe is dead.
Fake reports of Theo’s supposed death emerged on some blogs and news sites recently. Subsequently , social media users started spreading the news by hitting the share button.
According to the reports, Theo had been found dead in his home, bleeding from his nose. They also gave the impression that the artist had been struggling with his health for some time now.
However, taking to Instagram on Monday, Theo’s bandmate Nhlanhla Nciza responded and lashed out at the reports. She unleashed her anger on the shameless rumour mongers, reassuring fans that Theo is alive and well.
Nhlanhla wrote next a picture of the article;
“Whoever started this rumour shame on you. To our true fans/supporters Theo is fine.”
Also, a recent video of Theo looking alive and healthy during a shout-out to the group’s fans can also prove that the artist is not close to dying. Theo Kgosinkwe is officially the latest top-shot musician to die on the social media.
Just last week, rapper Emtee took to social media to clear the air on rumours of him being dead.
“I’m not dead bruh. What lies. They say I’m dead. Lapho there’s awards coming up … You know what that mean(s),” the rapper wrote in a series of tweets.
In addition, South African producer and actress Terry Pheto also experienced death by social media. Bearing a fake death news of the actress was a fake Facebook post which went viral.
Thus, concerned fans immediately reacted to the post, reaching out to the star on other social media platforms. Eventually, she was forced to make a statement to shut down the rumours.
