In the bid to create a bigger and better online listening experience for his audience, radio mogul Tbo Touch threw in R28 million to relaunch his online radio station Touch Central under a new name – Touch HD.
Tbo Touch teamed up with Gareth Cliff to in August last year to launch Touch Central which they called the future on radio. At the time, the CEO of Touch Central FM and former Metro FM DJ, Tbo Touch promised his listeners the best innovation on radio.
Thus, on Thursday, he announced that he had relaunched the station to Touch HD. This is all in an attempt to make major changes to its line-up and mode of operation.
The radio will continue being a pioneer in the African digital online radio space with a stronger focus. It will also serve as a source for fresh content in the urban African and cosmopolitan youth market. The station aims to achieve this by delivering the highest quality of music, current affairs, lifestyle and entertainment news from around the continent.
“Digital radio lends itself the opportunity of being disruptive through innovation. The new station is being true to its roots‚ vision and mission of innovation and disruption through the changes being introduced‚ Touch said.
The station will reveal more details about the upcoming changes and new look at an event scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 28 March 2017 in Sandton.

A whopping R28 million was reportedly used by the media mogul to relaunch the station.
