Tbo Touch Defends The Results From His Data Must Fall Movement

The results from the Data Must Fall Movement has garnered a lot of public criticisms and radio personality and entrepreneur Tbo Touch is not ready to let them slide.

Touch who is the brain behind the campaign to reduce the cost of data has hit back at critics, saying that they ‘judged too quickly’.

We don’t know exactly what this means but he believes he would deliver more success in time.

Back in September, Touch made headlines after launching the Data Must Fall Movement. He targeted data service providers and the high prices they set for data. At the time, everyone rallied around him in support, singing his praises.

After several deliberations on the matter which was eventually taken to Parliament, there were results.



However, a lot of supporters turned to critics after MTN’s announcement on the data issue last week. According to the service provider, Touch’s online radio station Touch Central will be made free to all users of the network.

And that was all was needed for people to come to the conclusion that Tbo Touch was only fighting for himself. Besides, for declaring on social media that data has fallen, using already existing data promotions he was tagged a “sell out.”

Touch announced that MTN has joined the low data movement. Furthermore, he highlighted the new data prices as follows;

“#DataFalling @MTNza has joined the low data movement. 1Gig data bundle is now R65, 2Gig R99 Unlimited calls, SMS, 3G data for R859 AlutaContinua,” he tweeted.

Subsequently, the DJ took to Twitter to slam his critics for jumping into impromptu conclusion. In other words, the radio icon has not given up on the war against the high cost of data.
