The South African flag will fly high when Kwesta takes to the stage to perform at the South by Southwest (SXSW) music and lifestyle festival in Austin, Texas.

To make sure his performance at the event pulls through without any hitches, Kwesta had to cancel his upcoming performance at Major League Gardens. As a result, he has apologised to his fans for canceling the much-anticipated performance to enable him honour the invitation to perform in America.

The musician was named as one of the headliners for the show but had to cancel this week. This follows his gig for a series of performances at the SXSW music festival in the US.

While the rapper celebrated the recognition abroad, he also thought of thousands of fans who are expected to descend on FNB Stadium this Saturday for the All White Major League Gardens concert. The show is headlined by some of the biggest names in the music industry including Kwesta.

Accordingly, the rapper took to Twitter on Wednesday to render a heartfelt apology to his fans for cancelling his performance.

“Sincerest apologies: Due to my acceptance of @sxsw’s, invitation i have withdrawn from this weekend’s @SAMusicCarnival & #AllWhiteGarden!”

Kwesta will perform at two events as part of the South by Southwest festival on March 17 and March 18.

Kwesta said it’s an honour to be chosen by the event organisers. He’s also very excited about the opportunity to hoist the SA flag high for the world to see.

“I first learnt that they wanted me to perform about a month ago. I was naturally excited when it was finalised. I guess they heard my music and how much South Africans love it and decided to book me,” Kwesta said.

The rapper joins the likes of K.O and Jesse Clegg who have performed at the prestigious event in the past. Consequently, rapper Kwesta promised he’s going to take the opportunity very seriously.
