Flamboyant TV personality Somizi Mhlongo is at it again! Always looking for a way to give back to the society.
This time, the Somizi is giving away 30 of his state of the art designer suits to underprivileged teenage boys to wear to their matric dance.
The Idols SA judge took to social media to tell friends that he will start from his wardrobe to kickstart the Mandela Day campaign.
Thus, in the spirit of Mandela Day, Somizi will donate 30 designer suits that he’s worn to previous events. His previous attempt at this was very productive.
“Mandela day is around the corner. Last year I started a raise a matric dance dress campaign. My aim was to raise 67 dresses. Ended up getting 300 dresses for girls around the country.
This year is like to grow the campaign by also raising 67 suits for matric boys. I’ll start with myself. I’m giving away 30 of my suits I’ve won on previous events. I’ll give to boys size 28 to 32.”
Meanwhile, Somizi threw a challenge to some of his celebrity friends. He urged the likes of Jimmy Tau‚ Andile Ncube‚ Tbo Touch‚ DJ Tira‚ Trevor Noah and others to join his campaign by donating a suit.
“I’m challenging my friends to bring theirs. I’m also challenging everyone to go to their neighboring high schools and donate their dresses and suits. My friends u know where to find me and I know u have suits.”

He added that he wants to do his best to “improve this world one person at a time.”
This task is not exclusively for celebrities. You too can be a part of it as it doesn’t hurt to give back in any little way you can.
Well done bro!
