At the over ripe age of 72, English singer, songwriter, actor and Rolling Stones’ co-founder Mick Jagger is expecting baby number eight.
The rocker’s spokesman revealed this on Friday, confirming that Jagger’s girlfriend is pregnant for him.
The incredible part of it all is that the pregnant girlfriend is a 29-year-old American ballerina dancer; Melanie Hamrick.
The couple, who have been dating since 2014, are reportedly “surprised and happy” after finding out that they have a baby on the way.
Already a grand pa, Jagger has seven children ranging in age from 17 to 45 from four previous relationships.
His children include Karis; Jade, Elizabeth; James; Georgia; Gabriel and Lucas; five grandchildren and a great-grand child.
The great-grand child came in May 2014, when his granddaughter Assisi gave birth to a baby girl.
However, Melanie will not be moving to London with Mick who turns 73 on July 26. She is rather expected to end her career in ballet to move to either Los Angeles or head home to Connecticut to be closer to her family.
Melanie is very American and doesn’t want to move to London. Mick Jagger likes the arrangement as he doesn’t want to be in another formal relationship.
Mick’s love for his children will surely extend to the newest member of the family.
The Rolling Stones are not ready to make a stop as this is not the first time this is happening in the house. Two months before Mick Jagger got his good news, Rolling Stones’ guitarist Ronnie Wood became the father of twin girls at 68.
The 68-year-old Wood already had four children and nine grand-children. His 38-year-old wife Sally Humphreys and mother of his twin girls is a theatre producer.
