28-year-old American singer Rihanna has cancelled her show in Nice following a fresh terrorist attack in France last night which left more than 80 people dead.
Though Rihanna was in Nice at the time of the attack, her representative has confirmed that ”she’s safe”.
Fans were looking forward to the Rihanna Nice Concert as the award winning singer was due to perform at the Allianz Stadium tonight as part of her ‘Anti World Tour’ but had to cancel following the tragedy.
The fatal attack saw a white truck driving through a mammoth crowd of people who were enjoying the fireworks while celebrating Bastille Day last night.
A tweet from Nice mayor Christian Estrosi confirmed that the Rihanna Nice show has been cancelled, adding that the city’s jazz festival will not take place as planned.
The Interior Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet revealed that the lorry driver had been ”neutralised” and no hostages were taken.
This comes few months after Eagles of Death Metal were caught up in the terrorist attacks in Paris, France, in November. Their concert at Le Bataclan theatre was stormed by gunmen.
