South African TV personality Palesa Madisakwane has revealed how hard it’s been co-parenting with Somizi, with the bad publicity and all.
The two public figures have tried their best to give their daughter, Bahumi, a normal life. However, they are often subjected to a lot of negative publicity which is almost impossible to ignore.
In an interview with a tabloid, Palesa revealed that when she became pregnant with their daughter who is now grown up, they never had any plans for the future. Apparently, there was no promise of a happily ever after as Somizi did not hide the fact that he is gay.
Palesa Madisakwane revealed;
“Somizi and I were young when we fell pregnant and had our daughter. We were in each other’s lives but had no plans for the future.”
“Now that Bahumi is an adult and most people know who her parents are, we never once thought of hiding it from the media. People will always talk and sometimes be convinced that they know you, but they actually don’t.”
Besides, with the presence of the popular SomGaga as the father figure, raising Bahumi was not an easy task. However, the parents seemed to have realized early enough that tongues must wag. Thus, they have tried hard to give her normal life.
“When it comes to raising Bahumi, we try our best to give her a normal life, even though it’s hard to avoid bad publicity.”
During a recent interview on 947‚ TV/radio personality Somizi shut down any speculations that he had ever lived in the “closet”. Apparently, he was referring to the period when he fathered his daughter.
“I’ve never been in the closet. I’ve never said that I’m straight. When you come out‚ is when you’ve been claiming to be straight. Have I ever?” Somizi asked. He emphasized that Palesa knew about his sexuality before they became parents.
