Oprah Winfrey Refutes Rumours Of A Secret Wedding

American media personality Oprah Winfrey has broken her own rules in the bid to address rumours of her so-called secret wedding.

Oprah has always been discreet when it comes to matters of the heart. She made sure that her relationship with her longtime partner Stedman Graham does not mix up with her life as a public figure.

However, keeping the public in the dark about her relationship led to incessant rumours that the couple have actually split. But now, Oprah has to take a minute to address what she tagged false rumours of a so-called secret wedding. Thus, she took to Twitter to slam the reports which led to breaking her longtime silence over personal issues.

Though this is something she rarely does, Oprah deemed it necessary because 6 of her close friends already fell for the reports. Apparently, the talk show host was getting some kind of congratulatory messages for her supposed wedding.

” 6 people who know me well have called today, congratulating me or surprised they weren’t invited to my wedding. IT’s NOT TRUE!!,” she tweeted.

According to many international reports, the couple tied the knot in a secret ceremony over the weekend. In addition, even the closest of their friends were not invited to the wedding.

Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham have been dating since 1986. Nevertheless, the 62-year-old woman has always maintained that marriage is not for her.

During a 2013 interview with Hello magazine, Oprah stated;

“I’m not a traditional woman and I haven’t had a traditional life, and I think that had Stedman and I gotten married, we certainly wouldn’t have stayed married. The very idea of what it means to be a wife and the responsibility and sacrifice that carries — I wouldn’t have held that very well.”

She has touched a lot of lives worldwide through her TV talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show.
