American actor Omari Hardwick (Ghost) has been announced as the new ambassador for the local beer brand Castle Lite.
It is now official that the South African Breweries’ Castle Lite brand will no longer use Pearl Thusi as president of the Republic of Extra Cold in Plettenberg Bay this summer. Thus, the company introduced a new campaign featuring American hunky actor Omari Hardwick.
The new campaign makes Castle Lite the latest local brand to seek the services of an international celeb to influence local demand.
According to the brand’s acting general manager Vaughn Croeser, the product needed a change. Besides, it aims at bringing TV heroes and stars closer to the people.
Croeser explained further;
“We have partnered with more than 40 local acts in the past four years, building amazing stages and doing amazing concerts. But we also collaborate with the likes of Timbaland, Nas and Wiz Khalifa. So, when we bring all of this together and take the best of local and global talent, it shows what we can do; it brings people closer to their heroes and it’s inspiring.”
Therefore, the actor from the hit TV series Power will film the summer campaign for the brand in Cape Town. He is particularly excited about the campaign, being a beer drinker himself.

“I have tasted Castle Lite. I love it. The green bottle is what makes it interesting. I have been a beer drinker since college,” he said during a press conference. On his first visit to Africa, he had this to say; “My first impression was it was beautiful and the people are so nice.”
The actor is known for his sizzling hot character James Saint Patrick (Ghost) on the hit series Power. Unfortunately, will be covering all those abs and all the sexiness with clothes, unlike the character he plays in the series.
