The first night of the long-awaited Nicki Minaj Pinkprint Tour which finally kicked off with a blast in Johannesburg on Thursday was a huge success but at the same time brought about sadness for some 20 fans who were stood up by the rapper.
The fun packed night ended in disappointment at about 10:30pm when the show ended at the TicketPro Dome. About 20 fans who had already paid a fortune to have a one on one meeting with the rapper were patiently waiting when Minaj blatantly told them she wouldn’t be doing any meet and greets.
She took the pain to address the expectant group and seemed rather upset with the situation, apologising for having to disappoint them like that.
“I’m very sorry for keeping you all waiting‚ but I want you to know that I never approved any meet and greet. I don’t do meet and greets after a show‚ I was literally about to leave. These people lied to you‚ please get your money back‚” she said.
The group of fans was made up of pupils‚ parents and couples.
However, Nicki Minaj agreed to take pictures with fans as they had paid almost R3000 to meet her. She also offered to make sure that she would make sure that fans got their money back.
After waiting for almost two hours‚ fans were still happy to have a group moment with the American rapper.
The first night of the Nicki Minaj Pinkprint Tour in SA was sold-out and was a huge success for SA fans as Minaj performed some of her greatest hits like Anaconda‚ Pills & Potions‚ Super Bass and various medleys before wrapping up the show with Starships.
A mammoth crowd of Nicki Minaj fans filled the TicketPro Dome to the brim to witness her first South African performance in Joburg last night.
Nicki graced the stage in a sheer beige, tassled body suit that complimented her sexiness. She was impressed with her fans who sang to the lyrics of every single song she performed
She remarked at this by saying “Yo I didn’t know Joburg would be so turnt up.”’
“Are you kidding me right now, Johannesburg?” She said.
“Yall have been with me a long time, let’s see if you know this one” she continued as she hit them with her song Right Through Me.
Fans sure had a good time with the American rapper who expressed her love for South Africans and was finally wrapped with a South African flag as she filmed the crowd at the end of the show.
We will be seeing more of Nicki Minaj tonight at the TicketPro Dome before she heads to Durban for her show on Sunday and wrap up at Cape Town on Tuesday. Fans don’t miss out on this amazing Nicki Minaj PinkPrint Tour
