Thembi Seete

Thembi Seete is a South African actress and a media personality. She was also one of the members of the kwaito supergroup ‘Boom Shaka’ (1994 – 2000).

About Thembi Seete

Thembi Seete was born on the 25th of March 1977. Thembi is currently engaged to Bobo Seritsane, the couple has been in a relationship for over 10 years. Though Bobo is ready for a marriage, the same cannot be said for Thembi.

In an interview with “True Love”, here is what she had to say:

“I delayed setting a wedding date because I’ve realized that marriage isn’t about the wedding ceremony or a ring on my finger, it’s about the connection you build with your partner. It was obviously awkward at first to have the conversation with Bo… that I didn’t want to get married too soon after getting engaged,”

She further went on to say:

“Many women don’t say this out loud, but the truth is that when someone asks for your hand in marriage, you ask yourself these questions. The difference with me is that I decided to seek out answers before jumping into marriage.”

During the interview, Thembi also revealed that she and Bo are eager to become parents, and are working on that aspect of their lives.

Boom Shaka

Boom Shaka was a Kwaito music group from South Africa, consisting of Thembi Seete, Junior Sokhela, Lebo Mathosa and Theo Nhlengethwa. The group’s first single “It’s About Time” was released in 1993 and their debut album “Boom Shaka” was released in 1994.

Boom Shaka was a group that appealed mostly to the youths and had a lot of controversies regarding their choice of outfit and the lyrics to their songs. The group was also famous for creating popular and distinctive dance moves. The dancing is said to come from traditional African dance moves, continuing to make kwaito a unique and localized South African music genre.

The group eventually broke up in 2000, after one of their lead singer; Lebo Mathosa decided to start her own solo career. On her solo career, Lebo Mathosa was doing very well, until she was involved in a car accident in 2006; which took her life.
