Ntando Duma

Ntando Duma is a young South African model and celebrity who was born on the 29th of August in 1995.
She was born in Soweto in Johannesburg which is located in the Gauteng Province of South Africa.

She grew up in Orange Farm, also in the Gauteng Province, with her grandmother, mother and three other siblings including Thando – her twin sister.
On her childhood, Ntando has stated that her mother and grandmother managed to provide a normal childhood for herself and her siblings despite the fact they did not have much.

Her father left the family when Thando and Ntando were only three years old. He passed away in 2008. Ntando has described this period as ‘the lowest point in her life’.

Besides modeling, she is also a presenter, an MC and an actress.
As a model, she participated in the Soweto Fashion Week Runway of 2015.

Ntando Duma, who is the founder of the Youth Development campaign – Inspire a Teen SA, is currently studying Media Studies at Boston Media House, in Johannesburg – South Africa.

Duma’s claim to fame came when she won e.tv’s presenter search for their new youth oriented show – Craz-e.
Keeping it in the e.tv family, she later joined the cast of the network’s Soap opera ‘Rhythm City’ as Zinzi Dandala.

Ntando Duma plays the on screen daughter of Dumisani Mbebe’s character – Doc Dandala. Thembi Seete portrays her onscreen mother and a ‘has-been’ music celeb – Bongi Diamond. Ntando’s onscreen sister – Thandeka Dandala is portrayed by Hlubi Mboya.

She has also presented on shows like Sistahood and Shizniz.

As mentioned earlier, she was born on the 29th of August 2015, which puts her present age at 21.
Ntando Duma has said on record that winning e.tv’s presenter search for Craz-e was the best thing that could have ever happened to her. She has presented for the show since 2014

Ntando attended Kwabhekilanga High School in Alexandra in Gauteng.

She cites Pearl Modiadie as her role model.
Interestingly, Pearl Modiadie also hosted Craz-e before Ntando.

Ntando is described as ‘energetic, bubbly and talented’.

Ntando has confirmed that her celebrity crush is Bohang Moeko however she is currently in a relationship with DJ Junior De Rocka despite previously stating that she did not have the time required to maintain a relationship and would rather spend her time on building her career instead.

Bohang Moeko is a twenty eight year old South African actor known for his role as Victor Ndou on Mzanzi Magic’s soap opera – Zabalaza. He also competed for Mr South Africa in 2013. Mr Moeko is currently rumored to be in a relation with fellow Rhythm city actress – Samekelo Ndlovu.

Ntando worked at ‘Bee Strata’ (a business management consultancy firm) as a verification officer before she became the presenter on Craz-e.

She aspires to be an inspiration to others through her success as business woman and entertainer.

Zinzi Dandala

Zinzi Dandala is the character on Rhythm City played by Ntando Duma as stated above.

Zinzi is the teenage daughter of doc Dandala
The character is described as young, sexy and definitively a trouble maker. The character has also been described as a go getter.

Zinzi is introduced to the audience while dancing seductively on top of tables, hinting to her feisty and unpredictable behavior.
She is also noted to be an intelligent and mischievous character that lies a lot.

The best part of the character is the fact that despite her age, she isn’t naïve.

Rhythm City

Rhythm city is a South African television series that airs on South African television channel e.tv.
It premiered as a replacement for Backstage – the network’s former youth oriented soap opera.

Rhythm city revolves around the lives and trials of a select few trying to make it in the music industry.
It chronicles the backstabbing, homosexuality, abortion, infidelity, drug abuse and love lives of those in the business.

Rhythm city was a surprise hit with the public with over two million viewers per episode.

Rhythm city has served as a launching pad for some of South Africa’s biggest stars today and has also had many notable guest actors and actresses. However, some of the fan favorites remain those who began the shows as original cast members.

Some of Rhythm City’s original cast members include: Jamie Bartlett, Peter Se-Puma, Setlhabi Taunyane, Kelly Khumalo, Mpho Molepo, Robert Hobbs, Connie Chiume, Wandile Molebatsi, Mmabatho Montsho, Lucia Mthiyane, Lungile Radu, KB and Nokuthula Ledwaba.

Neil McCarthy serves as the Head writer for the show while the show’s directors include Ziggy Hofmeyr, Heather Gordon and Andre Odendaal.

In June 2011, the show celebrated its officially airing of 1,000 episodes. The Rhythm city also celebrated its 2,000th episode in March 2015.
It is currently the most viewed local soap opera series in e.tv’s docket.
