Kelly Khumalo is a South African entertainer. She is popular across the country and beyond more for her singing career. She was born in Gauteng South Africa in 1984.
She began her music journey in 2003 when she performed in a Gospel music star search. Soon she was to perform before a large crowed of around 30 000 people, and serve as opening act for the famous Missy Elliot.
Her first album, TKO was released in 2005. The album made a quick hit, stamping her as something good to happen to the music industry. The end of 2006 saw her releasing Itshitshi as her second album. The album was as well massively accepted
By 2012 she had had a total of six albums including Siyajabula, Simply Kelly, Simply, and The Past, The present, The Future, which was released in 2012. In 2014, she released another album, Back to my Roots. The album was also accepted by her fans, with the Asine as one of the favorite. She is working on another album to be released either 2016 or 2017; My Truth.

Her acting career began when she acted in SABC 1’s TV Drama series that ran from 2006 to 2009. Next she appeared on other productions such as Mzansi Love, and uSkroef noSexy.
Kelly has managed to be among the South African celebrities courting scandal and controversy. Her music, actions, and even statements on social media have attracted controversies at various times. She has been accused by Yvonne Chaka Chaka of taking her 1997 song, Reya Lots’ha, and changing the name and lyrics and adding it to her album as Asine.
She got the wrath of men on twitter when she made a comparison on the size of the manhood of South African men and that of their Zimbabwean counterparts.
She was as well accused of snatching other women’s men when she dated two men, Senzo who was married and three months after he was killed, a traditional healer who was unofficially married. The relationship ended as abruptly as it began, with alleged physical confrontation that left the herbalist with sore eyes.
Kelly Khumalo had been engulfed in various controversies, especially as regards the men she dated and how it all ended. While the first, with South African hip hop star Molemo Maarohanye (Jub Jub) didn’t end well as he was later convicted for killing four school children during a drag race, the second ended when Senzo Meyiwa whom she was dating was killed in her family house.
She alleged that in her relationship with Jub Jub, which resulted in her first child, she was abused by the hip hop artists, and she would seek a restraining order from him the moment he finishes serving his eight years in prison. The claim was however rubbished by his legal team who said they would oppose any such move. Jub Jub is due to finish half of his term in prison by 2017, which would open him up for parole.
Her next relationship would be with Senzo Meyiwa, who was still married and with a child. The relationship as well produced a child.

Kelly has been in a rather long battle since the death of Senzo Meyiwa. Senzo was a goalkeeper with the Orlando Pirates of South Africa as well as the South African National team. He was killed in what was said to be a robbery in 2014.
Khumalo was there when he was killed at her Vosloorus family home. Her battles as regards the death were stressed with the dislike of Senzo’s family for her, for not doing enough to aid in apprehending the killers of the goalkeeper. Senzo’s father who had never hidden his disgust for the singer accused her of being disrespectful to the family as well as being involved in the death.
When Kelly announced she had recorded a song in Senzo’s honor, his father said she would be cursed for doing so without the permission of the family, wishing she got arrested on stage while performing.
The singer however has insisted on her innocence in the murder, accusing the police of not doing enough to get the murderers so that she could get the whole case off her system.
Kelly Khumalo and her baby have got some share of the insurance of the late ace goalkeeper, which would go specifically for the daughter and it would go in Trust until she turns 18.
