Kwaito musician Arthur Mafokate has once again declared his undying support for the ruling party.
The musician was met with an overwhelming uproar on social media by fans who questioned his political stance. Apparently, he appeared to be showing support for opposition parties; EFF and DA.
There was a public backlash as Twitter users took turns to accuse Arthur of “not having a backbone.” This happened when Arthur posted the tweet below, moments before the DA’s Herman Mashaba was inaugurated as the Mayor of Johannesburg:
Wow! Bra Herman Mashaba who used to sponsor us as dancers is about to be a Mayor of the most powerful city in Africa ???????????????????????? #JoburgMayor

In addition, Arthur appeared to throw some support towards EFF leader Julius Malema.
“The Julius that I know is not gonna take any nonsense from any person that he donated his votes to, watch the space,” he tweeted.
This raised a lot of eyebrows and even Julius himself had to respond to Arthur’s comments.
Consequently, Arthur’s comments resulted to massive criticisms which instantly saw him become a hot topic in Twitter town. Social media users lashed out at him for supporting opposition parties, questioning his loyalty for the ANC.
Thus, the kwaito musician returned to social media to make it clear that he is an ardent ANC supporter.
“I am an ANC supporter. I take full responsibility of my successes and failures of my beloved party.”
He reiterated his support for the ruling party, adding that he was still behind the party no matter the circumstances.
Meanwhile, just a few days before the municipal elections, kwaito musician Arthur Mafokate was up in arms against Malema, whom he called “intellectually challenged.”
An angry Malema took aim at Mafokate and Kelly Khumalo, calling them “useless artists” singing “expired songs.” In response, Mafokate clapped back at the EFF leader, advising him to focus his attention on elections.
