There’s trouble in paradise as Minnie’s Tropika Island of Treasure gig is bedeviled by controversies and misunderstandings.
TV personality Minnie Dlamini recently resigned from her position as co-host on SABC 1’s SoccerZone. However, she informed her fans that she will be back on screen for Tropika Island of Treasure Seychelles in March 2017 on SABC3.
However, she informed her fans that she will be back on screen for Tropika Island of Treasure Seychelles in March 2017 on SABC3.
And just when we thought everything is going smoothly for the TV star, she admitted that there was conflict on the set of Tropika Island of Treasure. Apparently, someone forgot to fill Minnie in on a lot of things about her contract as the main host of the show.
Initially, Minnie’s Tropika Island of Treasure gig was to act as the sole host of the show, while Top Billing presenter Jonathan Boyton-Lee takes the role of ‘games master’.
Conflicting information from insiders say Jonathan was told that he was a co-host without telling Minnie. Thus, she threw tantrums when the situation dawned on her. As a result, there was trouble in paradise. Minnie allegedly threatened the successful filming of the show after refusing to come to an agreement with the producers.
“Cardova and Tropika offered me the sole hosting position of the upcoming season which I signed on for. I specifically asked not to be considered if they were looking for two presenters. Then last minute they wanted to introduce a co-host which I refused as per the initial agreement. There was conflict on the island as a result,” she said in a statement.
That’s not all. More reports on the matter revealed other demands Minnie made, leading to more controversy. Minnie was labeled a diva after demanding that a stylist and a social media team accompany her to Seychelles.
Travelingg with a stylist is quite acceptable for a celebrity. However, what the producers failed to understand was the fact that Minnie wanted her own social media team when they already have someone on ground to do the job.
