Tbo Touch’s co-host Refiloe Mpakanyane has resigned from Metro FM after handing in her resignation on Tuesday afternoon.
Tbo Touch hinted on this while speaking to TMG Entertainment three weeks ago.
And now, Metro FM news anchor Refiloe Mpakanyane has confirmed that after putting 11 years into the job, she has resigned from the SABC.
However, Refiloe unexpectedly says that the decision was not influenced by any beef in the house. Rather, she thought it was time to move on.
“I have been at the SABC for 11 years in various roles. I went there straight after varsity and you get to a point where you realise that your own dreams and goals have changed.”
Touch on his part, thought it was right to clear the air on speculations about his resignation. Rumour had it that he had resigned following some ‘forced’ changes on his show‚ a claim he has refuted.
“It was time. I have absolute respect for the SABC and I am grateful for every opportunity that was given to me. There is no animosity‚” he had said.
Same goes for Refiloe Mpakanyane‚ who insisted that the decision was about her life and career and nothing to do with beef.
“There are absolutely no bad vibes here. I don’t have time for that. This was really a decision about my own life‚ my own career and my own family.”

While eras were itching to hear her next move, Refiloe was reluctant to share.
However, she did spill the beans on some projects she got lined up that will literally take her around the world.
“All I’ll say is if you’re in Hong Kong‚ give me a call and I’ll take you out to lunch.” At this point, all we can do is wish her well in the path she has chosen.
