SA intelligence. In a recent development following the accusations and spy claims leveled against Thuli Madonsela, Julius Malema, Lindiwe Mazibuko, and Joseph Mathunjwa, the four have dismissed the claims in a statement they released on Friday, calling the allegations rubbish and saying that it has no serious base or hold.
After the SA intelligence, State Security Agency (SSA) issued a statement on Thursday saying it was probing spying claims against the four, Public Protector Thuli Madonsela was recorded dismissing the claims and saying “A grade nine pupil could see it is rubbish.”
SSA spokesperson Brian Dube said allegations against them led the agency to africaintelligenceleaks.wordpress.com and other social media platforms.
Public Protector Madonsela went on to say she was going to lodge a formal complaint against the SSA and ensure that it to withdraws the statement and the allegations against them since they are not true.
She also said it was interesting that such allegations never came up all these while but chose to surface just days before President Jacob Zuma is to answer questions in Parliament. This implies that there is more to the allegations than actually meets the eye.
On his own part, Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema said: “I have never heard such madness in my life… Those people are clowns. Our biggest problem is that our ‘intelligence’ is not intelligent.”
Mathunjwa, President of the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (Amcu), also dismissed the allegations as “rubbish” and said that it would be a “complete waste of resources” to investigate allegations which were so obviously untrue.
In reaction to all of the statements, Mazibuko, former Democratic Alliance parliamentary leader who is studying at Harvard, tweeted: “It’s pretty embarrassing that an SA cabinet minister would issue a press statement responding to a false blog post from the lunatic fringe” followed by a “sad face” emoticon.
Among the Claims and accusations is also the claim that the CIA in Langley, US, has a file on Mazibuko saying she is trying to organize a “Pretoria version of the Arab spring”
