It’s no longer rumour that hunky actor Lesley Musina is set to leave popular SABC 2 soapie Muvhango as his contract with the broadcaster has not been renewed after three years on the show.
Thus, Lesley will leave his Muvhango leading role as suave businessman Ndalamo Mukwevho.
Muvhango publicist Amanda Ngudle confirmed the news in a statement saying;
“It’s not a rumour. Yes actor Lesley Musina’s contract has not been renewed for the current season. Our writers have not been able to craft a big story for him and because his is such a prominent character, it would have been shameful to just let him float through the season without a gripping storyline.”
In addition, Lesley also confirmed that his time on the popular show has unavoidably come to an end. He, however, told fans on where to see him on their TV screens.
“Yes, I can confirm that I have left Muvhango. I have enjoyed my time on the show. Muvhango will always be home. For my fans, I will still be on Speak Out, and as far as acting is concerned, just watch the space,” Lesley confirmed.
He said he had grown over the years and needed to spread his wings and explore other parts of the entertainment industry.
Lesley Musina who plays son of Albert Mukwevho, Ndalamo on the popular show will make a final appearance on the show in May.
Lesley’s character, blinded by love, according to his on-screen sister Rendani, reportedly shot his last scene last week. This was in preparation for his last appearance on the show in a few months time.
By the way, Lesley’s character will be written off, not killed. And in the meantime, he will reportedly be replaced by a young upcoming actor who we are yet to meet.
