South African actor and presenter Lawrence Maleka has been officially named as the new presenter on Club 808.
The Isibaya actor is taking over from former host Cyprian Ndlovu, who left the show on August 1. Thus, the music and lifestyle show will now be hosted by TV personality Lawrence with Boity Thulo as the co-host. The duo will officially take over the show from Friday, September 9.
The news was confirmed by e.tv and Lawrence appears to be very excited about the new gig as part of team Club 808.
“I’m very excited about joining the e.tv and Club 808 teams. One of my first gigs in the industry was hosting a music show where Boity was a frequent guest, so we go way back,” he said.
The hunky presenter also promised to bring his A-game to the show, while using his knowledge of local music to give fans the “inside track”. Besides, he has plans of showing the other side of him on the show. At least, it will be the pleasant side. “It’s a new chapter in my career, people will see a different and pleasant side to me.”
Lawrence Maleka is a presenter best known for taking over the hosting of third season of the Mzansi Magic reality competition series; Clash of the Choirs South Africa from Bonang Matheba.
