Nickelodeon announced on Tuesday that professional wrestler, actor and TV personality John Cena is set to host the Nickelodeon’s 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards.

Having landed coveted gigs at the 2016 ESPYs as well as the 2016 Teen Choice Awards opposite Victoria Justice, Cena is no longer a stranger to hosting award shows. Thus, it’s safe to say that WWE will bring the best show for the 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards.
The show is so far, the only live event where kids’ votes count. Accordingly, Nickelodeon’s 2017 Kids Choice Awards will celebrate kids’ favourites from across the world of film, television, music, pop culture, animation and a lot more.
In addition to calling out award winners, stunts and surprises will pop up often while the show airs live from USC’s Galen Centre in Los Angeles. Kids on Nickelodeon channels in more than 180 countries will get to watch the live stream.
On a lighter mood, the hosts and the biggest stars of the day line-up will have to get slimed as per tradition. The Kids’ Choice Awards offers kids the pleasure of watching famous stars being drenched in buckets of green slime.
Speaking about the part he will play at the event, Cena felt honoured, knowing he just signed up to get slimed.
“The Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards is the biggest party for kids, and I’m honoured to host this year’s show,” said Cena. “I have big surprises in store, so bring on the slime,” he said.
Marketing and digital director for Viacom International Media Networks Africa, Chris Torline said;
“John Cena is an absolute megastar to kids, and we can’t wait for the excitement and energy he’s going to bring to this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards.”
More details about the Kids’ Choice Awards – nominees, guest presenters and all, will be announced in due time.
