The much-anticipated SATY Awards ceremony will be headlined by international actress pop sensation Jennifer Lopez on November 25.
The singer is set to perform in South Africa this November at the Ticketpro Dome. To get the 47-year-old celebrated artist to headline the South African of the Year (SATY) Awards is a big plus for the ceremony.
ANN7 Editor in chief, Moegsien Williams, expressed in a statement;
“It is an honour to secure an international artist like Jennifer Lopez for the SATY awards. Hosting Jennifer Lopez, one of the greatest international acts in the world, proves how we have become a draw card as a country.”
Meanwhile, R&B crooner Robin Thicke will also perform at the awards as was previously announced.
Also, popular media personality Bonang Matheba will handle the mic as host at the awards ceremony. In order words, the mic is in good hands as Matheba is no stranger to such events. As a matter of fact, she pulled off a successful 2016 MAMAs with just a few hours to prepare.
The media icon is overly excited for another opportunity to host the SATYs.
“I am so excited to be returning to the South African of The Year Awards stage, one of my favourite stages in the world. The awards celebrate the best of South African talent and I couldn’t be more prouder to be part of such an amazing Mzansi story (sic).”
Matheba will be joined by her Afternoon Express radio programme co-host Jeannie D. Joop, while Ambassador Jonathan Boynton-Lee will be the thorn among the roses by taking on the role of the red carpet captain for the day.
Now in their 3rd year, the SATY Awards have become one of the most anticipated entertainment events in Mzansi.
