“You never get over rape, it lives with you forever. I recently drove past the street where the second incident happened. It’s such a busy street; why didn’t anyone see me?,” she wondered.

Lebo relived the first rape ordeal which happened when she was just eight years old. It was one of her sister’s friends who took advantage of her after she was told to follow him to get something for her sister.

They were walking back home when it happened in the school toilets. After the horrid incident, Lebo said he threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone.

Again, there was a second time while a male neighbour was giving her a lift when she was 11 years old. He ended up raping her in the car. Apparently, the second time happened in a busy area, yet nobody seemed to notice and nothing was done to stop it.

In her interview with the magazine, Lebo said she was only able to bounce back to normal with the help of her husband. Years after the rape ordeals, she met her husband, Lucky and was she able to face the demons the ordeals had put in her life.

After keeping it to herself for so long, gospel star Lebo Sekgobela decided to share her story with the public. Besides, she feels that others can learn a thing or two from what she passed through and how she was able to get back on her feet.

Today, the 36-year-old singer has a great life, a successful career, a man who loves her and kids she adores.
