Euphonik And DJ Milkshake To Leave 5FM

Word out there has it that the public broadcaster has lost more gems as Euphonik and DJ Milkshake are said to be leaving 5FM.

Buzz South Africa gathered that Euphonik handed in his resignation about a week ago and has been missing in action since. Reliable sources said that popular DJ Themba “Euphonik”  is ditching the SABC for 947 (formerly Highveld 94.7). Thus, the radio jock has joined the list of presenters abandoning the public sector for the private sector where the competition lies.

However, it’s not yet clear on what grounds he left. Was it a mutual and peaceful agreement between both parties or was there a disagreement? His dramatic exit sure leaves fans wondering if he has been axed or is moving his career to the next level.

An insider described Euphonik’s resignation as a big loss to 5FM. Over the years, the radio jock has become a crucial part of the 5FM brand, acting as a strong pull for audience figures.

“He was the best club DJ at the station and now he is gone. It’s a big loss to 5,” said the insider.

Meanwhile, Euphonik did not quite acknowledge that the rumours about his departure from the public broadcaster were true. The station also withheld information concerning the mass exodus.

As mentioned earlier, DJ Milkshake has also bid farewell to the radio station. But, he could not be reached at the moment for comments. Listeners will surely have a hard time adjusting to their absence on the radio. Metro FM listeners are still trying to adjust to major changes on the radio following a mass exodus of presenters.
