In Polokwane, the EFF victoriously out-weighed the DA after clinching 27.96 percent of votes – leaving the DA with just 4.58 percent.

As gathered, over 93% of votes in Limpopo as at Friday morning has been counted. And results from IEC dashboard indicates that the EFF is trailing behind the ruling party with 16.88% of votes; while the ANC is ahead with 68% of the votes.

Recall that the EFF took over from the DA as Limpopo’s official opposition after the 2014 general elections.

It is worthy to note that in Modimolle-Mookgopong; where the ANC has 46.43 percent and 13 seats, there is a possibility of  the DA and the EFF forming a coalition in the council alongside the FF plus.

EFF’s major victory in Limpopo province has been tied to Malema’s nativity, which many believe played a major role in people voting for him; while his outstanding popularity with mining community in the North West pooled additional votes to the EFF.
