DJ Fresh has joined a slew of radio DJs announcing their resignations on Friday as he revealed that he has officially resigned from 5FM to join Metro FM.
In a shocking announcement on Periscope, it was revealed that DJ Fresh has left 5FM after spending more than a decade at the station. Subsequently, the radio veteran revealed on Friday that he will take over the breakfast show slot on Metro FM.
Speaking to 5FM’s Rob and Fixx‚ DJ fresh announced that he had finished his last show on 5FM. Thus, in the bid to pursue a “30 year dream”, he has joined Metro FM and would be hosting a new show on station on Monday.
The radio jock is overly excited about his new position which he said was the fulfillment of his dreams. However, Fresh did not reveal who he will present the show with.
“I’m so excited. That kind of ‘literally‚ pee yourself’ excited. There is zero fear‚” Fresh said.
News about Fresh’s migration from 5FM to Metro FM comes a few hours after Metro FM morning host Unathi Msengana announced that she just finished her last show at the station.
Shortly after her Friday morning show on Metro FM, Unathi told fans that she will no longer work at the station. Taking to Instagram, Unathi posted an image of herself as a child and captioned it; “Well that was my last show on Metro! Thank you for your love over the past decade”.
Just last week, Unathi’s former co-host Glen Lewis left the station for Tbo Touch’s online radio Touch HD.
Also, taking to Twitter on Thursday, radio personality Zama Dube announced that Friday will mark her last day at 947.
