Fans Rain Fire And Brimestone On Dineo Ranaka Over Harsh Response To Matric Dance Dress Request

On Thursday night TV personality and motivational speaker Dineo Ranaka found herself entangled in a war of tweets with angry fans over a matric dress saga.

Dineo didn’t expect her rejection to help a young girl get a matric farewell dress to evolve into something so big that it had her exchanging words with her supposed fans.

Probably out of admiration, the young girl approached Dineo Ranaka directly to ask for assistance in helping her get a dress for her matric farewell.

To everybody’s dismay, Dineo reacted in the most harsh way to the request. Instead of helping out or politely saying no or even ignoring the request, Dineo went on to lecture the young girl, telling her to focus on becoming rich rather than acting rich.

This infuriated a lot of fans who lambasted her reaction to the request.

To make matters even worse was the fact that Dineo did not go stealth when the war started. Instead she chose to get involved in public feuds on the social media by strongly defending her stance in the midst of the uproar.

And now, she has unavoidably become the trending topic on the social media platform.

However, Dineo’s refusal followed by the backlash got the attention of some generous users including celebrities. Within a short time, the young lady was getting offers to help make her matric dance night a dream come true.

She didn’t just get a dress but ended up with offers for make up, hair and even a ride to the venue.

Lexi (of Mandla and Lexi fame)‚ Sizwe Dhlomo and Lerato Kganyago were among the celebs who offered to help.

In return, Dineo‚ Ranaka got the mocking of her life in tweets.

Some Twitter users even went to the extent of taking a trip down memory lane to repost a tweet she posted years ago encouraging girls to buy their matric farewell dresses from her clothing line.
