In the pursuit of justice following the death of aspiring singer Bobbi Kristina Brown, a lawyer for her estate said a judge in Georgia on Friday held the singer’s ex-boyfriend responsible for her death in 2015.
The judge made the decision after the ex – Nick Gordon failed to show up for a hearing in a civil lawsuit. Shortly after her death, Gordon was accused by her estate of injecting the late Bobbi Kristina Brown with a ”toxic mixture” before her death.
The lawyers for the estate had requested the denial of Gordon’s request to delay the civil case. Apparently, he believes he would be forced to answer questions that could be used against him if criminal charges are filed in the future.
Bobbi Kristina who was the daughter of singers Bobby Brown and late Whitney Houston was found unresponsive in her bath earlier last year. She later died in July 2015.
The estate believes the 22-year-old star died after “a violent altercation with Gordon after which he placed her in the bathtub. Also, she was knocked unconscious, after he injected her with a toxic mixture.” Gordon was further accused of trying to cover up the altercation by changing his clothes.
Subsequently, a jury will determine how much Nick Gordon, who has not been criminally charged, should pay.
Bobbi Kristina was the only child of renowned singers Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston who also died of drug complications.
The young talented singer was on the verge of following her parents’ footsteps, when she was discovered face down in the bathtub of her north Atlanta home in January 2015. She died about six months later.
Her autopsy which was released earlier this year found that drug intoxication and the immersion of her face in the water contributed to her untimely death.
