The Generations: The Legacy TV Series has been struggling to keep things on track with the storyline as star Rapulana Seiphemo lies on a hospital bed fighting for his life.
Generations spokeswoman Gaaratwe Mokhethi said Rapulana Seiphemo who starred as Tau Mogale was key to the show in his role as high-powered businessman and his absence has created a lot of loopholes in the show.
“Though we are ahead in terms of episodes that we have shot, his situation will force the writing team to brainstorm something and maybe readjust the storyline. Writers might be forced to push other storylines while he is recovering.”
According to her statement, the accident that claimed three lives on Sunday night had left the whole cast devastated and still struggling to recover from the shock.
Mokhethi added that a melancholic mood had engulfed their studio. “The focus at the moment is for Seiphemo to recover than the story,” she said.
Meanwhile, Rapulana Seiphemo, is recovering well at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg.
His uncle Mduduzi Sikhakhane said: “He is recovering well after undergoing a procedure on Monday afternoon. The doctors have asked us to give him time to rest.”
He added that its has not been easy for the family but they were holding it together and praying for his recovery.
Generations on the other hand posted a statement on its website which said: “We would like to request that we all afford the family space to deal with the trauma. Rapulana is a fighter, he will pull through.”
Comedian Kenneth Nkosi who is Rapulana Seiphemo’s close friend, had nothing to say as he said he had not seen the actor and referred all questions to the family spokesman.
Tshwane metro police department spokesman Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba could not confirm if Seiphemo was alone or with someone in the car at the time of the crash.
